Sword of Freedom finish date: June 1st, 2010!

ALL WORK needs to be turned in on or by June 1st, 2010. Everyone can do it! Also, if you didn't already turn in your Hero Report, you need to mail (as in real paper in the mailbox) a copy of it to Sister Cabrera or Sister Davies, and email them to tell them that you sent it to them. This also needs to be done by June 1st (tomorrow!)
Good work everyone!

Oops!

The Last writing asignment was How would you "bind the nation's wounds"? I hope you wrote that down, and I am super sorry if you didn't!

A Great Civil War Website

Sister Cabrera found this really great website dealing with the Civil War:

http://civilwarlibrarian.blogspot.com/

It has reviews of writings done by past and current people who have written about all kind of things relating to the civil war. It keeps on top of all things related. Take a look! (btw; Sister Cabera wrote that review, not me.)

Marianne's Apple-less Apple Pie Recipie

Apple pie without apples
What you need
Pastry for two crusts for a 9-inch pie plate
36 RITZ crackers or two cups RITZ BITS (not broken)
2 cups or water
2 cups of sugar
2 teaspoons of cream of tartar
2 tablespoons of lemon juice
Grated rind of one lemon
Butter or margarine
Cinnamon

What you do
Break the RITZ crackers coarsely into a pastry-lined plate. Mix the water, sugar and cream of tartar in a saucepan and boil gently for 15 minutes. Add lemon juice and rind (one lemon should supply all the juice). Allow to cool. Pour the syrup over the crackers, dot generously with the butter or margarine and sprinkle with cinnamon. Cover with the top crust. Trim and flute edges together. Cut slits in the top crust to let the steam escape. Back in a hot oven (425 F) for about half an hour, until the crust is crisp and golden.
